Visiting Guest Resources
We welcome visiting yachts and reciprocal yacht clubs and can accommodate a wide range of vessels for transient dockage. Snugly situated in a well-protected hurricane hole off the Saugatuck River in Westport, the club offers dockage on our floating docks with 30 and 50 amp service for yachts up to 53'.
Visiting yachtsmen are welcome to make use of the large pool, showers and laundry room. A short 6 minute drive or uber ride away is the Saugatuck section of Westport with many fine restaurants, and the main town center of Westport with many shops and great places to enjoy a meal is just 10 minutes away. Also located 6 minutes away is the historic South Norwalk (SONO) section of Norwalk; with a bustling area of restaurants, musuems, and shops. We do not have a restaurant or bar available in our clubhouse.
GUEST SLIP RESERVATIONS:
Please visit our Guest Reservation page to fill out our paperwork to secure your reservation. Our Dock Staff monitors Channel 71. Advance dockage reservations are required in advance of your stay. As a reminder, you must be a member in good standing of one of our reciprocal yacht clubs in order to stay with us at Saugatuck Harbor Yacht Club. A complete list of clubs can be found here. Directions From Long Island Sound
Coming from the west leave red bell "24" to port and turn north to green 2.5 sec. flashing can "1" (Georges Rock) making sure to leave it to port to avoid Cockenoe (pron. Ko-kee-nee) Reef, thence to green flasher "3" (Bug Light).
Coming from the South, again, leave green 2.5 sec. flashing can "1" to port and head for green flasher "3" (Bug Light).
Coming from the East, head for the green flasher "3" (Bug Light). From the Bug Light pass between the first pair of river buoys, green can "5" and red nun "6". Slow speed to 5mph from this point on. Pass the Compo Marina channel and follow the green cans as they take you to the west side of the river where you will turn 90 degrees to starboard at red nun "16" (opposite Cedar Point Yacht Club). Give this nun and all the rest up the river a wide berth, staying to the west side of the channel. At red nun "20" enter the SHYC channel between the green and red buoys. Line up the burgee marker on the dock with another on land.
This channel was dredged to 8 feet in 1997. Reach the dock master on VHF Channel 71.
